Turn Out the Lights Sweet Darlings!

Cause tonight it's all the way! Yes- that's right- the lights are finally up and the trees are trimmed! I must admit that it has been really hard for me to get in the mood for this holiday season. Last night helped lift my spirits because for FHE we read a talk from the Nov "Ensign" by Elder Marcos Al Aidukaitis titled "Because My Father Read the Book of Mormon". We have really been faithful in reading our scriptures nightly as a family and are on our third time this year. I can honestly say that it is something I look forward to each night, because it is the one moment in our day where I can feel the loving calmness as we sit together. Of course there are times when I am exhausted but our kids keep us on track, especially Parker! He will not go to sleep with out us reading our Scriptures. (maybe it's because we read in his room!) It was last night that I thought- "snap out of it-get busy- and be of good cheer!" My little ones are so excited about Christmas and all of the reasons why we celebrate. It is time that I get in the mood too! Tonight we will kick off our annual "Dancing by the Tree". Each night- one kid will pick a song from our collections of Christmas tunes, and we all sing and dance by the tree. It is one of their favorite traditions and most nights, we end up dancing to more than one! Hope you are all feeling the magic in the air! Love and Hugs

I think that is a great tradition!!! We have been reading a scripture and a story with a Christmas hymn... I love Christmas!! I have 14 nativity sets this year and I love them!! I know you will always have a fun Christmas no matter where you are so get in the spirit!! also, kudos for you at reading the Book of Mormon, it is not easy. There always seems to be a problem that stops us from doing it... I will follow your example.. Are you registered in College yet???

How stinkin' cute is that???? What a fun tradition. I might have to steal that one from ya as I often have dance parties with my kids.
I remember being in SC for the holidays right after we moved- actually we left the day after Christmas so I was not looking forward to that holiday. It's sad and hard, but enjoy the family that you have around you - that's the important part right there.

Hey Shannon!!! I saw you on Melissa's new blog. LOVE yours too!

Sounds like things are going well in Atlanta. Who knows, we may be moving a little closer to you. Pat has been looking at jobs in NC and FL, and a few other places...so we'll see!

I love your C-mas tree dancing tradition. Very cool! My kiddos would love that. We may have to try that...love you guys!

(P.S. Sorry, the kids hit something on the keyboard and deleted this comment the 1st time I wrote it.)

About Me

My photo
Adam and I have been married now for 14 years! To make a long story short- we met at the end of June, had our first date on July 4th, and were married on Sept 1, 1995. All I have to say, is "it was in his kiss." Adam is now a regional manager with Vita-mix. It has been a great blessing to have him here at home so that he can witness his children doing and saying all the fun things they do. We love where we live, but really do miss living close to both our parents and siblings. We have so much fun when we are all together and I am so lucky to have 4 fun loving wonderful sister in laws, lots of friends and 4 amazing BEST friends to hang out with. I know many of you will find this shocking but one of my best friends is my mother in law! I know that I can call on her at any time just to share a good laugh. She has given me the best thing a woman can give away- her son. I know- grab the tissue, I'll wait. Seriously- I love life and above all I am so grateful to know that MY FAMILY IS FOREVER!
